I’m going to be up in Boulder Colorado tonight demoing a preview of my company’s new AlchemyGrid service. The demo will be at the monthly Boulder / Dever New Technology Meetup event.

Be sure and say hello if you’re at the meetup!

Colorado Tech Meetups

Posted in Boulder, Denver, Events, Meetup at 9:11 am by elliot

Colorado is lucky to be blessed with an exciting entrepreneurial scene and a solid local technology base. This really shows if you take the time to visit one of the great Tech Meetups in the area, and take a look at the other folks who are in attendance. A truly great group of people.

I’ve made it up to the Boulder Meetup a few times (attempted to go to the January event but was thwarted by bad traffic on highway 36), but haven’t ever gone to a Denver event. From the looks of the following blog post, we should start seeing some additional events in Denver soon:

I’m going to try and make it out to more of these events in the near future. If you see me in the crowd, be sure and say hello!

Me.dium closes series B

Congrats to the Me.dium team who just closed a sizeable series B venture round, led by Commonwealth Capital Ventures!

I’ve been following Me.dium since seeing their first public demo at the Boulder NewTech Meetup.  It will be exciting to see the strides in scaling and usability the company makes with this new capital infusion.

May New Technology Meetup

Posted in Denver, Meetup at 8:06 am by elliot

Last night’s Denver / Boulder New Technology Meetup was held at the Denver Art Museum rather than the usual location in Boulder.

There were some pretty interesting presentations from several local tech entrepreneurs (one doing some pretty exciting video stuff), and a nice overview of the Art Museum’s technology focus by Bruce Wyman, their Director of New Technologies. The DAM is doing some great work focused on extending the reach of art beyond the typical museum audience. Children and techies alike will appreciate some of the wonderful interactive art installations that are being experimented with. Check it out!
